The wife of the governor of Ondo state, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu who was present at the occasion, lauded the efforts carried out by the team.
“I am really delighted to be here. I love technology and when you look at the adoption pattern of innovation, I am always curious to know more. This tripartite collaboration is great which will trigger massive support.
One of the major reasons why I am so much interested in technology is because of my experience where I come from where we had almost nothing and it affected the educational development. But technology has made the difference in terms of advance which is great”, she added in her goodwill message.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure(FUTA), Prof Joseph Fuwape expressed delight about the scheme being the first of its kind to trigger tripartite partnership between the government, a non-governmental organization and an institution.
“This is the beginning of great things to happen, not only in Akure but in Ondo state and Africa at large. With a beautiful location like this, we have not only created the technological environment but a conducive environment that will aid productivity. And with a tremendous support from partners like Microsoft and Oracle, the sky is the limit”.
An award was given to the most innovative startup, Upnepa Nigeria (a platform which notifies you whenever electricity is restored or disrupted in your home, area or community), while the social enterprise award went to Agrokonnect—a platform where farmers can sell to customers and buy farm produce directly.
