Having constituted the state executive council, the government of Ondo State has continued to make executive decisions.
At this week’s edition of the state executive meeting, the state government made decisions top of which included the under listed.
Top on the list was the approval of the council to access N3.9 billion from the Universal Basic Education Fund Commission (UNEC) fund, having been able to raise a counterpart fund of N3.9 billion, giving a total of N7.8 billion accessible money by the state.
The commissioner for Finance, Mr wale Akinteriwa said the fund was meant to help to improve “our educational infrastructure”.
The council also approved the acquisition of 26 vehicles for all members of the state House of Assembly.
The council also began a weekly briefing aimed at updating the citizens on the progress and decisions made by the state government.
According to the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi, the media briefing will be coming up every week shortly after the State Executive Council meeting
The government is set to demolish structures around Arakale area.
While speaking after the council meeting, the commissioner for physical planning and urban development, Solagbade Amodeni was reported to have said that many buildings around this area were reconstructed after their owners had been compensated for demolition.
Restrictions were also placed on loading and offloading of goods around the business hub of the state capital.
Loading and offloading have been banned beteeen 6a.m and 8p.m.
