The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Hon. Gbenga Edema has confirmed that the commission has begun the payment of bursary to eligible students for the 2014/2015 academic session.
Edema disclosed this in a telephone chat with SUNSHINE HERALD where he also confirmed that some eligible undergraduate students were already receiving the money through electronic platform.
According to the OSOPADEC’s helmsman, 5,237 students would benefit from the scheme and about N221 million naira has been approved for disbursement by the state government.
Edema further explained that the official flag off of the payment for post graduate students would come up on Thursday, 15th June, 2017 with the first lady of Ondo state, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu expected to present cheques to beneficiaries at the event.
