Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has stated that his administration will work more closely with the traditional rulers in the state in the bid to advance the fortunes of the state.
The governor stated this during the first year coronation anniversary of the Jegun Olu-Ekun and paramount ruler of Ile Oluji kingdom, HRM. Oba (Dr) Julius Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, Jumoko I I which took place at the Odundun town of the kingdom at the weekend.
Akeredolu who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi noted that the traditional rulers will play a pivotal role in his administration especially at their various domain.
The state’s helmsman also restated the committment of his administration in giving more honour to the traditional institution in the Sunshine state in order to promote it’s complementary role towards the democratic system in the state.
He went on to congratulate the Jegun Olu-Ekun of Ile Oluji, Oba Adetimehin on the 1st year coronation anniversary after ascending the throne of his forefathers.
He further congratulated the entire subjects of the town for being a witness on the first year anniversary of their king, he wished the paramount ruler longevity and prayed that his reign bring about more development to the town.
The ceremony also featured the official unveiling of Oba (Dr) Adetimehin’s scholarship award to 28 brilliant but indigent SS 1 students in the 14 public secondary schools in Ile Oluji town to support their academic pursuit up to SS III.
Also at the event, the sum of N250 million development fund was launched, aimed at financing infrastructural development and welfare projects which will advance the economic well-being of the people.
In his remark, the Jegun Olu-Ekun and paramount ruler of Ile Oluji, HRM Oba (Dr) Julius Oluwole Olufaderin Adetimehin, Jumoko II appreciated God for granting him grace and privilege to complete the first year of his reign.
Oba Adetimehin thanked the dignitaries, business associates, friends, Chiefs, organisations, groups and well-wishers for their immeasurable support since he ascended the throne of his forefathers.
He enumerated developmental plans he has for his town which includes reconciliation of aggrieved factions, stakeholders engagement and restructuring to resolve any conflict that comes up, engaging with Ile Oluji’s salient stakeholders all over the universe and continuous improvement for sustainable growth.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II opined that the elevation of Oba Adetimehin to the throne was the will of God, he prayed that God will grant the king the needed wisdom to rule the people of the town aright.
Oba Ogunwusi promised the king of Ile Oluji a continuous harmonious relationship between them and in extension to the people of the town.
Other eminent dignitaries that graced the occasion were; Osemawe of Ondo city, Oba Olasimbo Victor Kiladejo, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi among others.
