‘Idajo’ becomes Ondo Drivers’ union boss

Comrade Jacob Adebo (popularly called Idajo) has been sworn-in as the chairman of the Ondo State chapter of The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
The oath of office of the chairman was administered by the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu during the event held at the International Event Centre, The Dome, Akure, Ondo state.

While also administering the oath of office to the state delegates which would be headed by the chairman, the governor charged all and sundry to work together in order to move the union forward.

Also speaking at the event, the National President of the NURTW, Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin lauded the efforts of the current administration in supporting the process of appointing new delegates as well as a new chairman.

Alhaji Najeem pointed out that the state made history by electing 81 members for the first time in the history of the union, a move that was poised towards fostering peace within the drivers union amd the state collectively.

Other members of the newly inaugurated executive included, Gbenga Ijalade as Deputy State Chairman; Bola Adesida Omotayo as Vice chairman (women’s wing.); Olufemi Jogba, Assistant State Secretary; Ojo Olanipekun, State Treasurer.

Others include, Ominigbo Anthony as state Treasure; Alhaji Kasali Adebayo as Financial Secretary; Ayanbode Kayode-Assistant financial secretary; Olabenbe Adepetu as organizing secretary and Akindele Dare Wasiu as Assistant organizing Secretary.

The event also saw the inauguration of four vice chairmen, five auditors, five trustees, twenty-seven ex-officio members.
