Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has promised necessary intervention to ensure the timely release of the one billion naira take off grant for the Federal Polytechnic Ile Oluji for the smooth running of the institution.
Governor Akeredolu gave the assurance when the Governing Board of the Polytechnic led by its Chairman, Odey Oshishe paid him a courtesy visit in akure.
Oshishe, who was also the All Progressives Congress, APC Cross Rivers governorship candidate in the 2015 general election commended governor Akeredolu for demonstrating love to the people especially civil servants through prompt payment of salaries.
He thanked the governor for his assistance in the smooth running of the institution and equally sought his support in accessing their take off grant from the federal government as well as infrastructural development of the polytechnic.
The chairman noted that the board is made up of high caliber individuals that will oversee the successful running of the institution.
In his response, governor Akeredolu thanked members of the board for the visit and assured them of his readiness to help pursue their grant in the interest of the students and the institution.
Akeredolu while stressing that many states have limited resources to cater for their needs due to the current economic situation said his administration will do its best to assist the polytechnic.
The governor also maintained that he will collaborate with the school especially in the area of technology and other human development .
The Oshishe-led governing council board of the Federal Polytechnic Ile Oluji was inaugurated last month and is the second since the Institution’s establishment.
Present at the visit were the deputy governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, Secretary to the State Government , Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, and Rector of the Polytechnic , Prof. Adedayo Fashakin.
