In a way to constitute a new government in Ondo State, the Governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu has approved the appointment of 15 aides, including nine Special Advisers, two Senior Special Assistant and four Special Assistant.
The appointment which was conveyed to journalists in a press release from the office of the Governor and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Segun Ajiboye, is coming about five months after the inauguration of APC government in Ondo state.
Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, a former majority leader in the Lagos state house of Assembly was top on the list of Special Assistant while Hon. Victor Olabimtan, a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly and the Director-General of the Akeredolu Campaign Organisation in the last election was also part of the list.
Also on the list was a former commissioner in the state who was also a former chairman of the State Primary Education Board (SPEB) now Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), Princess Oladunni Odu as well as a former Head of Service during the tenure of former Governor Olusegun Agagu, Mr Alaba Isijola.
Also drawn from the cabinet of late Olusegun Agagu was Mr Tunji Light Ariyomo who served as an aide on ICT to the erstwhile Governor.
Others appointed as Special Advisers include Eng. Raimi Olayiwola Aminu, Dr. Olawunmi Juliet Ilawole, Mr Tunji Fabiyi and Mr. Tobi Ogunleye.
While Felix Rawa was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Riverine Community Relations, Dr Wole Alade was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Environment.
Names of the newly appointed Special Assistants include former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Ebi Lubi, Special Assistant on Niger Delta; Sowore Allen, Special Assistant on New Media; Banji Adewunmi, Special Assistant on Students’ Affairs and Folasade Arise as Special Assistant on Special Persons
Meanwhile, the statement did not state when other appointments will be made.
